Position Title
Undergraduate Researcher
- Sadegh Lab
I am a third-year undergraduate student at UC Davis majoring in Environmental Science and Management. Within the Sadegh Lab, I am investigating cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) hydrodynamics via small and large animal models, and how dyssynchrony of CSF pulsations within the brain can serve as a novel model for explaining various types of hydrocephalus and other high intracranial pressure (ICP) disorders. Treatments for hydrocephalus have stagnated over the past half century, and the rate of post-surgical complications from shunting has remained high. I hope that through helping to develop and test this alternative theory, more effective treatment methods than shunts can be created and implemented, advancing the breadth of possible neurosurgical solutions to hydrocephalus.
