Caitlin's research focuses on the neural control of walking and leg movement in people with stroke. She is a member of the Biomechanics, Rehabilitation, and Integrative Neuroscience (BRaIN) Lab, where she leads projects involving concurrent biomechanical and neurophysiological methods to investigate the neuromechanics of walking in people with chronic stroke. Her dissertation work focuses on the use of long-latency reflexes as neurophysiologic biomarkers to indicate functional status in people with chronic stroke and healthy community dwelling adults. Her long-term goals are to improve rehabilitation efficacy and equity in outcomes for individuals with neurologic disorders.
