- share particular skills you have that could be helpful to your peers
- present information about companies or other organizations (NIH Intramural Research, FDA, foundations, etc) that are of interest to you for future internships and jobs, etc
- practice a presentation for your thesis updates or for conferences
- practice presenting a poster
- promote your lab through lab hosting and/or lab touring
